Canine pancreatitis is a common digestive system disease in dogs, characterized by inflammation of the pancreas. Its causes are varied, including high-fat diets, obesity, genetic factors, certain medications, or infections. Clinically, pancreatitis can be divided into acute and chronic forms. Acute pancreatitis has a sudden onset with severe symptoms, while chronic pancreatitis has a longer course with recurring symptoms.

 

Common symptoms include:
• Recurrent vomiting and diarrhoea
• Loss of appetite or refusal to eat
• Weight loss
• Abdominal pain or reluctance to touch the abdomen
• Lethargy and drowsiness
• Fever and dehydration

 

Methodology: Immunochromatographic assay
Specimen: Serum/plasma
Target: Canine pancreas-specific lipase (cPL)

Sensitivity: 94.92% vs ELISA

Specifiity: 96.67% vs ELISA

 

Storage: Store in a dry place at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight. If stored in the refrigerator, return to room temperature before use. DO NOT FREEZE.

 

Shelf life: 12 months
