Phoenix Reversal. Yohimbine HCl 10mg/mL. Reversal of xylazine-induced anaesthesia in deer.

Yohimbine HCl 10mg/mL in a sterile solution for injection.

 

Action:
Acts as a strong blocking agent on central, pre-synaptic alpha-2 adrenoceptors.

 

Indication:
Reversal of xylazine-induced anaesthesia in deer.
 

Contraindication:
Animals known or suspected to be suffering from cardiovascular, renal or hepatic disorders.

 

Toxicity/Overdose/Antidote:
0.5–1mg/kg may give rise to CNS stimulation and hypertension and over 1mg/kg may cause convulsions, sweating, circulatory collapse and coma in deer.

DOSAGE:
Must be given by i/v injection only.
DEER: 0.2mg yohimbine HCl/kg (2mL/100kg b.w) or in mature animals 0.25mg yohimbine HCl/kg (2.5mL/100kg b.w).

 

Side Effects:
Animals may show signs of central nervous stimulation, anxiety, blood pressure variations and hyperaesthesia when the product is administered at the recommended dose rate.

 

Withholding Times:
MEAT: Deer producing meat and offal for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter either during treatment or within 5 hours of the last treatment.

Store in a cool place (15–25°C). Protect from light.
